Fun fundraiser coming to Concord

A delicious fundraiser is scheduled in Concord, and all attendees have to do is eat.

The event is the Blue Devils Performing Arts Crab Feed Fundraiser, which helps raise funds for the Blue Devils B and C organizations. A festive evening is planned, with dinner, dancing, live music, a raffle, and a silent auction all on the schedule.

The Blue Devils are part of the Drum Corps International (DCI), and were founded by Tony and Ann Odello in 1957. The organization has evolved over the years, adding instruments and entire sections, and splitting off various corps. The fundraiser is for Blue Devils B and Blue Devils C. The B section is open to participants from ages 14 to 19, and augments students' school performing arts and music experiences.

The C section is a beginning-level marching, dance, and music activity made up of members from throughout the state of California. It offers places to youngsters from age 8 to 14, and does not require any experience.

The Crab Feed is scheduled for February 29. The doors will open at 5:00 pm, with the dinner to follow at 6.00 pm. The menu includes pasta, garlic bread, salad, and marinated crab. Wine will be served with dinner, and desert will follow.

Tickets are $65 each and a table of 10 can be purchased for $600. The venue is Centre Concord on Clayton Road. Banner printing can be used to provide decorations for events like this.
