Concord to host holiday event

Concord will be ringing in the Christmas/holiday season with an event set for early December.

The Tree Lighting & Mayor’s Sing-Along is an annual celebration where the local community gathers together to indulge in festivities and the spirit of the Christmas season.

Santa arrives at 4:00pm, prior to the official start time of the event, with help from his friends at the local fire department. The early arrival grants time for him to interact with children. Pictures can be taken with personal cameras, or by a professional for a small price.

Music and other performances will be kicking off at 5:00 pm. Acts include Concord High School Ladies First, Concord High School Big Band, The 925 Band, and D’Ann’s Dance Academy.

Starting at 5:30pm, attendees will be able to take rides in carriages courtesy of the Todos Santos Business Association, visit with reindeer, shop from the “Santa’s Village” area, make craft pieces, and write letters for Santa.

The tree will be lit up at 7:30 pm, being followed with a sing-along led by the city’s mayor, before events wrap up around 8:00 pm. Flyer printing is often used in promotion of city organized activities. The venue is the Todos Santos Plaza. Several parking areas are available at no cost in the surrounding area. Entry is free, and the date is set for Friday, December 2.
