People who love crab and want to support a good cause can enjoy their favorite seafood and help raise money at the same time.
For the 20th time, the Bay Area Crisis Nursery is holding its yearly Crab Feed, which it calls the best such event in Concord. For one price, attendees can enjoy fresh Dungeness crab all evening, along with pasta, bread, salad, plus a full-stocked beer and wine bar.
Organizers are even encouraging crab lovers to bring all the gear they usually use to eat crab. This includes crab forks, nut crackers, lemons, crab feed bibs, and even butter melters that run on batteries. In addition to the crab, there will be raffles, a live auction, and a silent auction, with all proceeds going to the Nursery.
The Crisis Nursery is a safe residential environment for children under five whose families may be experiencing issues such as temporary unemployment. The services are free, and the nursery is run by volunteers. Brochure printing can provide materials that explore services provided by agencies like this.
The Bay Area Crisis Nursery's Annual Crab Feed is scheduled for January 18, from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm, at the Garaventa Center on Winton Drive. Tickets are $65, and interested parties are encouraged to buy them soon, as the event usually sells out.
