Concord ready for hard rock

A band that has been referred to as one of the best rock and roll outfits ever is on the way to Concord.

In 1984, the Black Crowes first got together in Marietta, Georgia. Now, they are bringing their “Shake Your Money Maker” tour to the Concord Pavilion.

The title of the tour is the same as their debut album, which they dropped in 1990. They followed up the effort with “The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion,” which soared all the way to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In 2008, after a hiatus, they released “Warpaint,” which climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard chart.

The current tour was scheduled to start in 2020 but was put on hold due to the pandemic, and now is finally on the road. Rich and Chris Robinson, two of the original members, are still with the outfit, which has sold over 30 million albums to date.

VH1 placed them at No. 92 on their list of “Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.” Other honors came from the readers of Rolling Stone in 1990, when they voted The Black Crowes “Best New American Band.” Another title came from Melody Maker, which called them “The Most Rock ‘n’ Roll Rock ‘n’ Roll Band in the World.”

The Black Crowes will be at the Concord Pavilion on August 21 at 7:30 pm. Poster printing can be used to create edgy, innovative advertising for events like this.
