The City of Concord will be hosting an educational Community Capacity Building workshop in the shape of its first Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Safe Routes to Transit Plan.
The plan is to develop a transportation network that meets the needs of pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and patrons of public transit. The goal of this meeting is to let residents know what is involved in creating such a plan and how they can provide input into its development.
According to Manager of Injury Prevention and Physical Activity Promotion Projects for the Contra Costa County Health Services, Coire Reilly, this workshop will educate residents about bicycling and walking paths in other cities and help them to understand how their input can be used throughout the process of developing the plan. They will learn how street crossings can be made safer, the role of bicycle paths, and about the project in general so they remain involved.
The Community and Economic Development Department of the City of Concord, the Contra Costa County Health Services Community Wellness and Prevention Program, and Monument Impact are collaborating on this project.
The workshop will be held tomorrow, March 19, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Concord Library. All the organizations involved may be collaborating with Print companies to create a colorful flyer with more information about the project and the workshop so as to create interest and enthusiasm for the project.Get a Free Quote for Print
