Classic band to visit Concord

One of the legends of rock is set to play Concord next summer.

The band Chicago took the name of the city where they first got together in 1967, first calling themselves the Chicago Transit Authority. The group turned out an astonishing catalog of hits in the 1970s and 1980s, a feat recognized in 2008, when Billboard ranked the band at No. 13 on the list of the “top 100 artists” to hit the Hot 100 singles charts. This honor was granted to them again in 2015, though at the No. 15 spot. Billboard also placed them at No. 9 of the 100 “greatest artists of all time” with regard to their Billboard 200 album chart.

Chicago has sold over 100 million records, put five consecutive albums into the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 list, and 20 of their singles went into the top ten. They have been nominated for 10Grammys, won one for “If You Leave Me Now,” and in 2016, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their music has been heard in films like “Happy Feet” and on numerous television shows.

“If you have never seen a Chicago concert then I would strongly suggest you find one to go to NOW. . . . The entire band is as crisp as ever.”

Chicago will be at the Concord Pavilion on June 21, 2021, at 6:30 pm. Poster printing is frequently used to publicize events like this.
