Blood donors get free haircuts

This month, those who donate blood or platelets during to American Red Cross Blood Donations Centers in the Concord area will be entitled to a free haircut at Sport Clips Haircuts.

Corporate communications manager for Sport Clips, Margaret Briscoe, commented that is a community-wide responsibility to ensure that a sufficient supply of blood is available, so the shop is proud to continue collaborating with the Red Cross to raise awareness for the need for donations of blood and platelets. This is its way to thank those who support the mission of the Red Cross.

The coupon will be sent by email to those who give platelets or blood before the end of September. The last day to redeem the coupon is November 8.

The blood donation center in the area is located in Pleasant Hill and is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. Sports Clips in the area are in Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Concord, and Benicia.

Sports Clips gets its name from specializing in sports-themed haircutting for boys and men. It was founded in 1993 by CEO Gordon Logan.

Most likely the Red Cross and Sports are working together with a local Print company to create flyer and mailers that can be sent to those in the area who are eligible to give blood and platelets.
