California has set the date for its statewide Adopt-a-Pet Day, and West Los Angeles is one of the communities taking part in the activity.
Los Angeles’s Animal Services Department’s West Los Angeles branch is one of six located in the city. The shelter system has partnered with the ASPCA to waive adoption fees for one day only and help as many families as possible add a new member.
The waived fees offer will apply to puppies, cats, kittens, and dogs, all of which will be neutered or spayed, licensed, and have their vaccines up to date. They will also be microchipped, and Petco has decided to lend a hand by contributing moneysaving coupons to each adopter. A discount on veterinary services will also be one of the perks, and those who adopt a dog will be provided with free obedience training sessions.
Animal shelters and rescue groups may help fill holes in a community’s social safety net. Mailers, which can be prepared by a flyer printing company, may offer a cost-effective way to spread the word about an upcoming event.
West Los Angeles will be celebrating companion animals as part of the larger California Adopt- a-Pet Day next Saturday, June 7. The shelter, which is located at 11361 West Pico Blvd, will be open from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm.
