West Los Angeles conference to provide disability support

The organizers behind the annual two-day “Tools 4 Transformation” conference have announced the date, time and location for this year.

Event officials have explained that the event is to offer an array of tools for individuals, families, and employees who work with the developmentally disabled.

The first day focuses specifically on professionals within the disabilities community and offers a series of breakout sessions, keynote addresses, and networking opportunities that are specifically geared towards these individuals.

In addition to professional development, conference attendees note that there will be a happy hour and live music at the conclusion of the first day. As such, attendees are encouraged to bring Business Cards and mingle with fellow guests.

The second day will focus on parents and families of individuals with developmental disabilities. This will involve taking a family-centered view, to help ensure that families can find the financial, therapeutic, and physical resources necessary to help their family members.

In addition, extensive time will be paid to help individuals who need to navigate the deeply complex system of public and private resources.

The Tools 4 Transformation conference will be held on Friday, 12 and Saturday, 13 April at the Fine Arts Auditorium of West Los Angeles College. The venue can be found at 9000 Overland Avenue, Culver City.

Day one will run from 8:00am to 7:30pm, with the second day running from 7:45am to 3:15pm. The conference is free to attend, but pre-registration is required.
