University Drive in Huntsville is about to get two new seafood restaurants.
The Krab Hut will be taking over from where Chili’s used to be, and Pier 88 Boiling Seafood & Bar is also ready to open up a new location on the same street. The competition is likely to be fierce and seafood-loving residents will be spoilt for choice.
University Drive is one of Huntsville’s busiest areas for commerce. The area sees heavy footfall, so restaurants situated on the street invest heavily in banner printing services in order to convince hungry students from the Calhoun Community College to choose their restaurants over nearby competitors. More than a fifth of the town’s tax revenue comes from this area alone.
The Krab Hut opens in May. The restaurant’s Logo Design, which features a crab in the shape of a letter K, can be seen on a banner outside the location at which it is set to open. Its Cajun-style menu features the usual seafood options such as clams, mussels, fried shrimp, and crab legs. People who are not big fans of seafood can get chicken wings and sandwiches instead.
Pier 88 Boiling Seafood & Bar offers a similar menu with an emphasis on providing a family-friendly environment. Pier 88's signature dish is the ‘Low Country Boil' which is a dish that includes crab legs, headless shrimp, sausage, corn, potato, and a boiled egg. It will no doubt be interesting to see which seafood restaurant the Huntsville locals like best.
