Huntsville plans to host The Big Run 2026 during the first week of June.
Being held on the same day as Global Running Day, this celebration of the sport will bring together running enthusiasts, walkers, and participants from in and around the city. The event is more than just a race; it is also a community gathering that welcomes participants of all experience levels.
This year’s race will continue its inclusive approach, encouraging participants to cross their own finishing line at their own pace and in their own way.
For fundraising efforts, Fleet Feet will partner with Girls on the Run and its SoleMates program, with support from Do the Run Thing. The partnership’s aim is to encourage and support more girls to participate in and complete the race.
The Big Run 2026 Global Running Day will feature live music, ice cream, a cookout, and a 5K run as part of the celebration. In addition to the race festivities, several charitable organizations will be involved as well, including Black Girls Run, among others. Apparel and banner printing are fairly common for fundraising race events like this.
This year’s event will take place at John Hunt Park on June 3, 2026. The race is scheduled to begin at 6 pm.
