Huntsville to host agricultural conference

Huntsville’s own HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology will host CROPS 2022, a multiday agricultural and genetics conference, next month.

HudsonAlpha Institute is a non-profit research institute dedicated to making discoveries in genetics and genomics to improve the health and wellbeing of people around the world. CROPS 2022: Improving Agriculture through Genomics will invite renowned scientists and experts to discuss the intersection between genomic technology and crop improvement.

The conference will feature workshops, lectures, poster sessions, and panels each day. The keynote speaker will be Rachel Stroer of the Land Institute. Some topics that will be discussed include soil microbiomes and crop disease management, climate change and food systems, and plant space biology.

Attendees will also enjoy some of Huntsville’s cultural attractions, as well as its food and drink scene. The Hops on the Helix beer festival will introduce guests to Huntsville’s vibrant microbrewery scene. There will also be a banquet at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, where dinner will be held beneath the moon rocket Saturn V.

Multiday events often rely on printed Brochures and schedules to inform attendees of activities and their times, so organizers of such events may invest in services such as brochure printing.

The conference is scheduled for June 13 through 16. The HudsonAlpha Institute is located on 601 Genome Way. Registration fees range from $450 to $20,000.
