The Lobsterfest 5K event will scuttle into Huntsville next month as a kick-off to the St. Thomas Lobsterfest charity event.
St. Thomas Episcopal Church has held Lobsterfest since 1994 to raise money for various outreach programs and charities it supports, such as the local First Stop Homeless Assistance Program and the Sloan Clinic, a medical clinic in Honduras. All the proceeds raised by both the overall event and the Lobsterfest 5K run/walk will benefit these programs.
The 5K will begin at St. Thomas Episcopal Church and travel along the Aldridge Creek Greenway. The race packet pickup location will be Fleet Feet Sports the day before the race from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. For those who cannot make it, packet pickup will also be available at 7:00 am on race day.
Lobsterfest will take place the following Saturday after the 5K, and organizers invite all runners and walkers to attend and enjoy fresh Maine lobster, barbeque dishes, live music, games, and more.
The 5K will take place on November 6, and Lobsterfest will occur on November 13. Both will occur at St. Thomas, located at 12200 Bailey Cove Road. The 5K registration price is $25 before October 25 and increases to $30 after that date.
