Next month, the Women in Defense Tennessee Valley Chapter in Huntsville will present its second annual spring fundraising event, called the Roaring ‘20s Spring Soiree.
The soiree has become an annual gathering of individuals involved in the defense and national security sectors designed to honor those women working diligently in the field. The Women in Defense (WID) is a National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) affiliate organization that works to cultivate, support, and advance women engaged in the national security field. Access to career development and professional growth are key aspects of what the organization provides to its members.
The event happening in May will honor 2024 scholarship awardees and offer fundraising opportunities for attendees to donate to future scholarships. There will also be a gourmet dinner, refreshments, networking opportunities, fellowship sessions, and even a silent auction for guests to participate in.
Events such as this that involve fundraising activities may also provide local businesses with the opportunity to become event sponsors and donate Promotional Products to the event in exchange for free advertising.
The spring soiree for the WID will take place on Sunday, May 5 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. It will be held at the Weeden House Museum and Garden, which is located at 300 Gates Avenue Southeast. General admission is $50 per person.
