Alabama car manufacturer reveals new logo design

Toyota Motor Corporation and Mazda Motor Corporation have a joint venture operating in Alabama, Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM), which has revealed a new design for its logo.

The new Logo Design was provided Huntsville and Decatur company Red Sage Communications. The symbols making up the logo are designed to communicate MTM’s vision, its mission, and its association with the state of Alabama. MTM’s vice president of communications, Mark Brazeal, stated:

“The development process for the MTM logo was very intentional. We solicited the collaboration and support of our entire team- from production employees to executive offices- to ensure there was meaning in nearly every facet of the design.”

Consisting of the three letters “MTM,” The design is made up of two sides brought together by three lines that represent the company’s origins. A custom shade of red is used, and is a mixture of three different shades to represent Mazda’s soul red, Toyota’s red, and Alabama state’s red. This particular blend was put together by students from the Limestone County Career Technical Center.

The company also revealed details for how work is progressing at its $2bn plant, which has taken on 750 people. Brazeal mentioned that the plant is currently looking for more workers to add to its roster. He expects the plant to eventually take on a total of 4,000 workers and manufacture 300,000 vehicles by the turn of the year.
