The alt-rock band Cardinal Black is currently on tour, and is due to play a gig in Cardiff towards the end of January.
The trio of lifelong friends Chris Buck, Tom Hollister and Adam Roberts first got together in 2010. After an impressive appearance at the music festival Sonisphere, the group flew to the USA to record their debut release with Alan Niven, manager of Guns N' Roses.
Initially, the group struggled in their new environment, with vocalist Hollister eventually walking out, leading to the break-up of the band. Over the next decade, each trod their own path, with Buck developing his reputation as a guitarist, Roberts as a drummer and Hollister as a tour manager.
The trio remained friends, however, and in 2020, started writing songs and recording as Cardinal Black. Since then, they have released a #1 single on iTunes as well as an EP, had sell-out tours with Myles Kennedy and produced a debut album, 'January Came Close'.
Bassist Sam Williams joined in 2022. The band was recently nominated for an Americana Music 'Artist of the Year' Award, and they also headlined at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London.
