The popular five-piece Indie rock outfit from Newport South Wales, The Rogues, is due to play a gig at Cardiff Students Union in mid-October.
They are fast emerging as a leading UK band, further enhancing their reputation with a recent performance at the Isle of Wight Festival. Indeed, they were listed by the promoters, This Feeling, as being among the artists who would make it 'Big in 2025'.
The group released three singles in one year, 2023, namely 'Lizzy', 'Nice To Say Hello' and 'Skinny Dipping''. The second of these 'Skinny Dipping' went onto the BBC Radio Wales Welsh A-List in September 2023, for three successive weeks. It was used on 'Match of the Day' and then featured in a newspaper article in the 'South Wales Argus'.
‘1963 - Live at Rockfield Studios, their first EP came out only on CD in June 2024. The headline single ‘1963’ entered the Official UK Chart ’at No.3, above Sabrina Carpenter. They also recently acted as support for both the 90s Brit-Pop outfit Dodgy, and the Welsh rock band Cardinal Black, selling out venues.
