Three Grade II listed Victorian arcades in Cardiff have been purchased by the Mansford investment group, which intends to draw more shoppers into the classic spaces with what it describes as a "major facelift".
Duke Street, Castle and High Street are the names of the arcades, which were bought for £25 million from Curzon Real Estates.
Almost all of the retail units in the arcades are occupied, with a mixture of businesses that includes antiques sellers, art galleries, clothes stores, jewellers, toy shops, and cafes. As the arcades are revamped, it is likely that retailers will want to improve their own businesses to attract some of the new customers in through their doors. They may well use strategies such as poster printing, and Cardiff has some excellent printing companies that can provide Posters and other marketing materials.
The Victorian arcades were constructed during the period from 1882 to 1902, when Cardiff was a thriving port for the Welsh coal industry. They are two and, in some cases, three storeys high, with offices on the upper levels.
A spokesperson for Savills, the company that advised Mansford regarding the purchase, told Wales Online that the Victorian structures were a key part of Cardiff's retail experience, housing a "vibrant mix of independent retailers" and that investment should restore them to their former glory.Get a Free Quote for Posters
