The Pixies are coming to Cardiff

A Cardiff record shop is preparing to welcome the Pixies.

Fans of the Pixies have been pleasantly surprised by the news that the rock band will be at Spillers Records in Cardiff on September 13th. Poster printing can often be useful in the promoting special events.

Since the formation of the group back in 1986, the alternative rock musicians have attracted a loyal following. The social media comment of Alessandro Carpanini was reported by Wales Online:

“This is amazing! One of my favourite bands ever! Went a bit mad and ordered a CD as well as the coloured vinyl. Cannot wait!”

Not everyone can make it to the occasion. Nonetheless, one admirer of the Pixies who could not go to the record shop on the day was generous about the situation. Sue Atkins was simply pleased for the people who could reserve a place.

Boston-based, the Pixies do have a Welsh connection. In 2013, the group decided to record some fresh tracks at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth. This brought to an end a significant period in which the Pixies had not made any new music.

With an album called ‘Beneath The Eyrie’ to promote, the Pixies have come a long way since they contributed to the evolution of grunge. Singer and guitarist Black Francis will visit the record store in Morgan Arcade at lunchtime with his colleagues, before they perform at an arena in the evening.
