The stand-up comedian Alasdair Beckett-King is embarking on his King of Crumbs tour and has a gig in Cardiff at the beginning of March.
This talented comic and writer has several awards under his belt. He emerged as a sensation on the internet, and after some years of plying his trade, a series of videos went viral. Sell out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival later saw Beckett-King break through, and he began his debut UK tour in 2023. He has since appeared in the Cabaret Tent at Glastonbury, the Udderbelly Festival in London’s Southbank and Citadel Fest.
A winner of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year in 2017, as well as the Chortle Breakthrough Act in 2023, his list of media credits includes 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Mock the Week and Radio 4's The News Quiz. He also co-hosts Loremen with Eleanor Morton, a podcast that focuses on local folklore.
Beckett-King is a writer of some distinction. In 2023, Walker Books first published Montgomery Bonbon, a selection of children's novels. Eleanor & Alasdair Read That is his latest podcast, which revisits classic children’s literature.
