Cardiff were promoted from the Championship last season, after nine years in English football’s second tier, while Swansea made it to the top flight after a successful campaign the 2010/11 season.
While Swansea will go into the game as slight favourites, perhaps due to their higher league position, Cardiff’s fans will no doubt be looking to get one over on their local rivals.

Speaking about the team’s chances in Sunday’s game, midfielder Peter Whittingham said:
"They pass the ball around a lot but there might be times at the weekend where we'll have to be patient.
"We know Swansea do have a lot of possession but we need to stay calm, stay compact and disciplined.
“It's going to be a huge day and one that we hope we can win.”
