Josh Weinstein, who also writes for episodes of the world-famous TV show, is joining forces with Tim Fishlock to work on the new book, which is a follow up to a gaming app that was released earlier this year. The app features mysterious, imaginative characters that explore the Welsh coastline.
Weinstein and Fishlock hope to pay for the printing of their book with help from the fundraising website Kickstarter. Many local authors choose to self-publish on a small scale, often enlisting the help of printing companies in Cardiff to produce Booklets for things like novellas.
Tim explained the reasoning behind choosing Pembrokeshire as the setting, saying:
“It is the main place I go outside of London. In terms of landscape and creatures, they have all been conjured from Pembrokeshire and its beaches.”
The book is already being compared to children's favourites like Where the Wild Things Are and The Gruffalo. Fishlock’s book, however, will be around 2,000 words long and will take a format similar to that of a graphic novel.
