Cardiff Council has given a green light to an electric rickshaw scheme recently.
The booking system is reportedly going to be similar to that utilised by Uber. Poster printing is often used to promote the innovative initiatives of new businesses.
Ola, a taxi-hailing business, is behind the transport venture. The manufacturer will provide brand new equipment. The rickshaws will be made to withstand a wide range of weather conditions and according to Ola, a great deal of testing for road safety has already been completed.
The idea is that the rickshaws will not add to noise pollution or contribute to carbon emissions.
It remains uncertain what prices will be charged for the rickshaw journeys. However, it has been revealed that trips shorter than five miles are going to be delivered at highly competitive rates. The proposal is clear that a pilot scheme will employ 30 drivers.
Each rickshaw will have the capacity to accommodate three people. One of these individuals will drive the rickshaw. There will also be sufficient room inside every machine for a suitcase.
Some concerns were raised because a rickshaw does not have precisely the same safeguards as a car. Nonetheless, any rickshaw may be fitted with seat belts. In addition, Ola has outlined that the availability of the rickshaws will be restricted to certain times of the week.
