Whitchurch Post Office is currently situated in Merthyr Road, but there have been Plans to move it to another location in Cardiff for some time, with Park Road suggested last year.
This was strongly opposed by both businesses and locals due to the fact that it is a considerable distance away from the centre of the suburb, and parking options are limited there, with the idea being scrapped after over 1,100 signed a petition.
Now, the McColls newsagents across the road from the existing site has been put forward as an alternative, and has met with a far more enthusiastic response from residents and shoppers.
Post offices in the city, such as this one, are always able to call on Stationery printing in Cardiff, to provide the supplies necessary for their operations.
Nick Davidson, who owns a deli in Whitchurch, told Wales Online:
“It’s fantastic for the village. Shows the strength of community here and so good the Post Office listened. It’s another great reason to shop in Whitchurch.”
