As part of his studies, Cummings will receive an attachment to a UK newspaper and he will study management within the newsroom and hot topics such as freedom issues from the media.
Last year, Cummings became the editor of the Manawatu Standard in New Zealand after previously being employed as the deputy editor of the newspaper.
His fellowship to the Cardiff print industry has been sponsored by Air New Zealand, the Newspaper Publishers’ Association and Wellington’s British High Commission. The fellowship is available to any journalists working for the Newspaper Publishers’ Association.
