Pop singer Rihanna, famous for hits such as Rude Boy and Diamonds, recently announced her new UK tour which covers five major stadiums in the UK. The tour starts in Cardiff and then moves to Manchester Arena, Twickenham Stadium, Birmingham LG Arena and closes at the Sunderland Stadium of Light. The tour is set to commence on 10th June 2013.
The announcement of these new tour dates coincides with the launch of Rihanna’s new album. Titled ‘Unapologetic’, the album is slated for release in the UK on 19th November. The singer recently announced that there would also be a special edition of the album available for fans to buy, featuring a note from the star herself, a t-shirt and a commemorative poster. Similar merchandise will likely be available on her summer tour, as two mainstays of tour merchandising are t-shirt printing and poster printing.
Cardiff Millennium Stadium has played host to a number of global music stars in the past and fans attending the gig will be well catered for. Gerry Toms, the manager of the stadium, commented on the announcement, saying:
“Rihanna is a worldwide superstar and it's so exciting that the Millennium Stadium will host her Diamonds World Tour next summer. We've an excellent reputation for putting on a spectacular show and look forward to working with the promoter to deliver the first and the best show of Rihanna's UK tour."
