The Clayton Hotel is situated not far from Cardiff Central train station and is a four-star establishment boasting a total of 216 bedrooms. Its new owner, Dalata Hotels, has built up a reputation as the leading hotel chain in Ireland, and secured the hotel through a deal that was conducted off market, via a private investor whose identity has not been disclosed.
Savills, the real estate advisory firm, served as the representative for Dalata during this process. EJ Hales, a firm of property advisors based in Cardiff, performed this role on behalf of The Clayton, a hotel that also contains eatery Viva Brazil and seven rooms designed for business meetings.
EJ Hales spokesman, Dan Griffiths told Wales Online that:
“The sale of Clayton Hotel represents significant confidence in Cardiff. The good relationship between the two parties allowed the sale to have a quick turnaround, making sense for both parties.”
Savills associate director, Richard Dawes added that the purchase by Dalata showed that the ongoing regeneration of the city was having a positive impact.
