Karen Self will be taking over a 20-strong team at the Cardiff Superbowl Centre, which will provide ultra-modern Laser Quest and bowling when it launches in February.
The aim behind this venue, which will be located in Stadium Plaza, is to revolutionise bowling through the use of the latest technology, but the 22,000 sq ft facility will also feature a smart bar and diner.
Although it seems certain to prove a big attraction for families in the city, it will also be able to take advantage of poster and flyer printing in Cardiff for promoting it to them.
Self has nearly 15 years of experience managing bowling facilities, having previously been in charge of venues in Gloucester, Bristol and Newport, but the 31-year-old told Wales Online that she was excited at the prospect of bringing this game into the modern era:
“Gone are the outfit-killer shoes – in their place Cardiff customers can expect an ‘open-play’ attitude to bowling in this boutique-style environment, as well as a first-of-its-kind Laser Quest facility which will be the only one in Wales to offer cutting edge technology.”
The centre is owned by QLP, the leisure firm that runs similar facilities in Great Yarmouth, Macclesfield and Widnes.
