A magazine for the jewellery retail industry recently ran a poll in an attempt to find the best independent jewellery retailer in the UK.
Retail Jeweller, a magazine designed specifically for people working in this sector, recently hosted its annual nominations process to determine which independent jewellery retailer is considered the best in the country. The nominations process is open to everyone, which means that all retailers, both large and small, have a chance of winning.
The mechanism to enter the voting process, which closed on Friday 7th September, asked people to cast a vote for their favourite shop by emailing the magazine. This year, customers could also vote using a business card. The magazine asked customers to write the name of the jewellery retailer that they wished to nominate on the back of a business card and leave this at the International Jewellery London trade show. As a general rule of thumb, delegates at trade shows use digital Business Cards, and tend to ensure that they are well-equipped for things like this.
Clive Ranger, a jewellery retailer in Cardiff, was voted into the top ten as part of last year’s poll and the industry will be interested to see if there has been a significant change in this year’s list. Independent jewellers are based all over the country and many of them will have attended the International Jewellery London trade show, and will have voted using Business Cards.
