Creative project gets Cardiff support

A creative initiative is receiving backing from Cardiff.

An alliance between the Arts Council of Wales and Creative Cardiff is behind Our Creative Place. The scheme has built upon Cardiff-based work last year. The hope is that a digital map will raise the profile of 11 artistic interventions. Business Cards can be useful in the creative sector, especially when networking opportunities are available.

Vicki Sutton is a project manager for Creative Cardiff. She is enthusiastic about the support the participants in Our Creative Place have already given to one another. Sutton told the South Wales Argus:

“For as much as this project is about what will be produced for the story within the map it is also about sparking and strengthening links across the region – something which we believe so passionately about at Creative Cardiff.”

Becky Davies, a consultant, is going to develop resources to enhance the individual artistic contributions. Davies has paid a generous tribute to the work of the creatives in question. Her statement referred to the diverse skills that have been used.

Variety is at the heart of the collaboration. The narratives in the scheme will be conveyed by puppetry, textiles, ice sculpting and animation.

The commissioned work should receive a welcome boost from a professor called Jon Anderson. The idea is that the creative interventions should inspire a positive academic response.
