Cardiff to welcome 80s star

Joe Jackson’s 'The Sing, You Sinners!' tour is due to arrive for a gig in Cardiff towards the end of March.

Born in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, Jackson began playing the piano in bars aged 16. After winning a place at London's Royal Academy of Music, the young musician opted for a career in pop and rock music.

Jackson was signed by A&M Records, and in 1979, his album 'Look Sharp', which included the hit single 'Is She Really Going Out With Him', was released. The albums 'I'm the Man and 'Beat Crazy' soon followed, and later, he released the single 'Stepping Out'.

The artist then recorded a series of successful solo albums in different styles, notably 'Jumpin' Jive', 'Night and Day' and 'Body and Soul'. He drifted away from pop, before he eventually signed for Sony Classical. His 'Symphony No.1', released in 1999, won a Grammy Award.

The new tour is with the same outfit as 2019's 'Four-Decade Tour', promoting Jackson’s new album 'Fast Forward'. The show will also feature a solo 'mini-set' from Jackson, with songs performed that span his entire career.

Tickets cost between £30.50 and £48, while those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Flyer printing can be used to publicise a forthcoming musical event like this.

Joe Jackson's gig will kick off at 7.00pm on Saturday, 19th March at St. David's Hall, Cardiff.
