Cardiff to host retirement party for cycling legend

Welsh multiple World Champion cyclist Geraint Thomas is due to hold 'Geraint Thomas Live: The Retirement Party' in Cardiff in mid-November.

After 19 years in the saddle, two Olympic golds and the Tour de France Yellow Jersey, this Cardiff native is finally hanging up his cycling shoes. He became the first Welsh winner of the Tour and the first British rider to conquer the Alpe d’Huez stage, as well as picking up the 2018 'BBC Sports Personality of the Year'.

Among his other achievements are the publication of three books, the filming of a BBC documentary and the hosting of two podcasts ('The Geraint Thomas Cycling Club' and 'Watts Occurring'). In 2021, he set up The Geraint Thomas Trust to encourage young people to get into cycling as a sport.

This planned evening is an opportunity for fans to join Thomas for a night celebrating a career that took him from the Maindy Velodrome to the pinnacle of his sport. He will be accompanied on stage by Tom Fordyce, plus surprise guests.

Ticket prices begin at £32.50. Stationery printers shouldn't be underestimated as a resource when it comes to the promotion of a theatrical show or event.

'Geraint Thomas Live: The Retirement Party' starts at 7.00 pm on Sunday, 16 November at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
