With the England cricket team desperate to recover from a humiliating defeat in Australia last time out, the other venues have been confirmed as Lord's, Edgbaston, Trent Bridge and the Oval.
It is a return to Test cricket for the Cardiff venue, which was dropped for the last series in the summer of 2013.
The Tests will get under way on 8th July, with the hosts hoping it will give them the impetus to win the series just as events played out in 2009.
Then, despite an onslaught from the tourists, a robust defence from bowlers Anderson and Panesar secured England a draw, helping them on to a 2-1 series win.
The chief executive of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, Hugh Morris, said it was “delighted” at being chosen to start the renowned series. Explaining that the contest will once again be highly anticipated, Morris said:
"The iconic scenes of Monty Panesar and Jimmy Anderson's last wicket stand was one of the great memories of that Series and vital in the eventual outcome of the 2009 Ashes.”
The ground will also host a T20 match between Australia and England, as well as a further one-day international with India.
