The writer and broadcaster Monty Don is on tour with his show ‘An Evening with Monty Don’, and is due to pay a visit to Cardiff towards the end of November.
He has been involved in producing TV programmes for more than 30 years and, in 2003, became the main presenter of BBC's Gardener's World. Indeed, the programme was first televised in 2011 from Longmeadow, his own personal garden, in Herefordshire.
Among Monty’s other TV credits are The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Real Gardens, Lost Gardens, Big Dreams, Small Spaces and Around The World In 80 Gardens. Furthermore, he currently fronts Shared Planet on BBC Radio 4.
This popular figure will talk about his experiences and travels as well as the gardens that he has visited worldwide. Tales from his long career and details of the development of Longmeadow are all relayed. He also discusses the role played by the seasons and identifies valuable gardening practices.
Monty challenges the prevailing orthodoxies, gives advice and answers gardening questions. This notably includes his conviction that interacting with nature enriches the individual and is essential to human health.
Tickets range in price from £28 to £35. It is worthwhile considering poster printing when it comes to publicising a forthcoming stage or theatrical event.
‘An Evening with Monty Don’ has a starting time of 7.30pm on Thursday 24th November, at St David's Hall, Cardiff.
