The American folk rock band The Lumineers are on tour and due to play a gig in Cardiff at the beginning of July.
This internationally recognised outfit hails from Denver, Colorado. The Lumineers were founded in 2005 by vocalist/guitarist Wesley Schultz and pianist/drummer Jeremiah Fraites. Their raw stripped-down music owes much to the influence of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen, amongst others.
The Lumineers first came to worldwide public attention in 2012 with the release of an initial self-titled LP, which achieved platinum sales. All three of their albums, most notably 'III', entered the UK's top 10, while 'Cleopatra' occupied the No. 1 spot on both the US and UK charts.
The 2016 title track taken from 'Cleopatra' as a single reached No.2 on the ARIA Chart and amassed over 116 million downloads. Other popular songs include 'Ho Hey' and 'Stubborn Love'.
These 2-time Grammy Award nominees produced a fourth album in 2022. It contains the songs 'Big Shot', 'A.M. Radio' and 'Where We Are', as well as the hit title track ‘Brightside’. Indeed, Brightside was No.1 on the US 'Alternative National Airplay' Billboard Chart.
