The housing plan in question would deliver 350 properties to Cardiff, and a bridge across the Taff river is part of the proposal. Around £60m could be spent on construction. Graphic design is of great assistance in the housing sector, particularly when new buildings are on the cards.
Huw Thomas, the leader of Cardiff Council, is excited by the housing project. He views it in terms of an urban transformation. The cabinet of the council is encouraging the submission of a masterplan following a decision in late November. About 180 existing properties would need to be redeveloped should the vision obtain the green light.
Lynda Thorne, a councillor in the cabinet, told Wales Online:
“It's been one of our key aims to deliver the redevelopment in phases so that the existing residents are able to remain living on the estate transferring from their existing home into a new property once built.”
According to a council document, the cost of the bridge has been estimated at £9m. Designers for this element of the plan are being recruited. External resources may be used to complete the bridge.
If all goes to plan, the council will be obliged to purchase some private residences. Negotiations with owner-occupiers have already begun.
Fresh green space shall be provided as part of the work. Improvements to existing park provision are being considered.
