The site in question is at Usk Road, home to Llanishen Rugby Club, and the scheme would see the current playing area transformed into twenty-five houses – five affordable, and twenty private. A space for car parking would also be included.
According to the planning application, the rugby club would be provided with a new playing area, which would be at Llanishen High School, ensuring that they were compensated.
Cardiff Council will now review the application, which states that:
“The site comprises the rugby pitch used by Llanishen Rugby teams and a hard surface for parking. The land is relatively flat and is in private ownership.”
The chosen location for this development places it adjacent to an existing housing scheme that was constructed by Waterstone Homes – the same company seeking permission for this new scheme. It has been confirmed that, should approval be granted, the new houses would be built to a similar design as the previous ones.
The majority of the houses would be four-bedroom, although there are also Plans to include three two-bedroom properties and one three-bedroom house. Housing developers often make use of places supplying catalogue printing, so they can showcase the homes once they are built.
