Cardiff firms urged to reap rewards from exporting

The Welsh government wants more Cardiff-based companies to get involved in exporting goods.

Business Wales appreciates that only a small percentage of enterprises registered in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan engage in exporting at the moment. However, the advisory service, which is linked to the Welsh government, understands that companies which export are likely to grow. Demand for printing services can increase when organisations expand and pursue new opportunities.

Welsh Assembly Member, Eluned Morgan told Business News Wales:

“Most businesses with ambitions to grow would love to export. But we know that business owners are busy, with a long list of things to do, and perhaps a lack of practical knowledge about how to export.”

There is scope for local corporate decision makers to discover more information about export potential. Regular exporters can update their knowledge via one-to-one advice. The identification of relevant opportunities may transform the future of a firm.

Object Matrix is a company that has achieved a lot of progress via an export strategy. The Cardiff-based enterprise works to deliver cloud storage services. Over half of its turnover is the consequence of exports.

Co-founder of Object Matrix, Nick Pearce-Tomenius, suggested that other outfits could benefit from the support of the Welsh government. This approach enabled Object Matrix to forge ahead with recruitment. The headcount of Object Matrix surged to 20 employees from a team of six.
