After receiving an overwhelming number of votes in its favour, Cardiff's business improvement district (BID) will now continue for an additional five-year term.
The BID is run by the non-profit FOR Cardiff and recently received 94 per cent support a ballot that included 300 organisations and companies based within the Welsh capital’s city centre.
FOR Cardiff has run a wide range of events and campaigns since 2016 which have assisted to increase footfall and customer spending within the capital. Charities and not-for profit organisations seeking public support can sometimes use professional printing services to create branded literature to promote their continuing campaigns.
The result of the recent success will see approximately £7m now invested in Cardiff’s BID area. The BID currently encompasses 750 enterprises and organisations that will use the awarded funds in the next five years to improve the city.
Chairman of FOR Cardiff, Huw Llewellyn, commented on the organisation:
“We represent such a diverse and expansive range of businesses, and we worked closely with them to develop a new five-year plan based on their feedback and suggestions.”
The upcoming Plans scheduled include Cardiff being among the first metropolises in the UK to become an equality city, investing in funds for arts and culture, and a new intern scheme for universities.
