Talented musical artist Lewis Capaldi is on tour and due to perform in Cardiff towards the end of July.
The singer/songwriter hails from Bathgate, near Glasgow. It was here that he started learning the guitar aged nine and then began writing songs. Within a couple of years, he was to be found in Glasgow's pubs playing sets and fine-tuning his craft.
Capaldi first came to wider public attention in 2017 thanks to his initial single ‘Bruises’, which proved to be a streaming success. This led to a sell-out gig at Glasgow's King Tuts club, and his next single ‘Lost on You’. He then signed to Virgin Records, who released the EP ‘Bloom’. He finished that year by winning a Scottish Music Award for Breakthrough Artist.
International recognition came in 2019 with the release of the platinum worldwide hit ‘Someone You Loved’ from his debut album ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’. This sold in excess of 1.5 million Copies around the world within 12 months and notched up over three billion global streams. He has since toured extensively and picked up both Brit Awards and Grammy nominations.
