Nick Heyward, who is currently on tour with his acoustic set, is due to play a gig in Cardiff at the end of June.
A singer-songwriter, Heyward started in pop music as lead singer with the band Haircut 100 in the 1980s. The group was part of the funk wave that followed new romanticism and had four hit singles in the top 10. Their first album, titled Pelican West, went platinum, before the group then broke up.
Heyward’s initial solo album, North of a Miracle, incorporated a complete orchestra with a pop-funk sound. It went gold, with three singles reaching the top 20 and one, Whistle Down the Wind, being featured in the John Hughes movie Sixteen Candles.
The artist continued to release records throughout the 1980s, and in 1993, his single Kite, from the From Monday to Sunday album, gained popularity in the US alternative music scene. This led to him touring there.
Heyward will be celebrating his rich catalogue and previewing new tracks composed in the midst of lockdown. Tickets for the upcoming performance cost £27, plus a £2.50 booking fee. Poster printing can be used to advertise forthcoming musical concerts and events such as this.
Nick Heyward's gig has a starting time of 8pm on Wednesday, 29th June. It will take place at Acapela Studio in Cardiff.
