The annual Cardiff 10k went ahead as planned on 7th September in order to raise money for charity, and thousands of runners turned up to take part.
The fundraiser, organised by Kidney Wales, experienced what was described as the best conditions for the event due to the sunny weather.
Just under 4,000 people made the 10k circuit, either running, jogging, or even walking to the finish line. Runners were all ages, with one of them as young as three, and they came dressed in all sorts of outfits for the occasion, from a plastic house to a banana.
Spectators also came in their thousands, with families lined up to cheer on the participants and take pictures as they completed the run, which began and ended at the National Museum. Due to the Nato summit, the route had to be revised this year, but it passed through Cathays and Roath Park Lake.
The annual event is said to be one of the UK’s top road races, and some people, including commentator Chris Jones, have been taking part since the race began 29 years ago.
Next year will be the race’s 30th anniversary, which means those who take part would like more people to join. Full colour printing in Cardiff can help events such as the Cardiff 10K reach out to more people.
