Sadiq Khan became the Mayor of London back in 2016 and he recently met with young people from Spark2Life and congratulated them on their community work. Spark2Life tries to stop the spread of gang culture within the area. Poster printing in Walthamstow can be useful for groups of various types. Mayor Khan told the East London & West Essex Guardian:
“One of the things that really distresses me is that when I meet young people they think there’s no hope, there’s no alternative to a life of crime and my message is there is an alternative and if you want evidence of the alternative go meet some of the young people from Spark2Life.”
Dez Brown is the founder of Spark2Life. The title of the group refers to Sharing Positive and Relevant Keys to Life. Brown undertook some criminal activity before he was 18. However, he took the opportunity to turn his life around.
Spark2Life has won a Youth Justice Award in recognition of the efforts which are made by its members. It will have the chance to secure more resources through a bidding process going forward.
The hope is that young people who could have drifted into a life of crime can be diverted into more productive activities. Spark2Life encourages individuals to develop legitimate ambitions.
