Wetlands walk celebrates spring in Walthamstow

A walking tour in Walthamstow will take place to celebrate the spring equinox.

Dubbed the ‘Mindful Walk’, the spring morning excursion will set off from 2 Forest Road in Walthamstow.

To mark the occasion when winter changes to springtime, the walk will allow those attending to witness the natural beauty of the Walthamstow Wetlands. Occurring when both night and day are in balance, the spring equinox offers participants the chance discover a calming and restorative experience.

Those organising wellbeing days in the local community can benefit from poster printing services, creating informative one-sheets to display details in public buildings.

The guided walk will be led by expert mindfulness teacher Liz Keates and is suitable for all skill levels from experienced practitioners to beginners. Offering an opportunity to reconnect with nature and to reawaken the senses, the special wetlands walk will include periods of silence to appreciate the local scenery in peace.

From nesting birds to the first spring flowers, many sights can be appreciated during the outdoor session set among the idyllic surrounds of hedgerows, greenspaces and reservoirs. The route taken has been chosen for its peaceful pathways, with exclusive areas of the locale not normally open to members of the public, accessible on the morning.

The Mindful Walk for the spring equinox will be held between 10am and 12pm on Saturday, March 21.
