A free annual festival known as the Garden Party is to be held in Walthamstow, London.
The weekend event will combine a wide range of activities, with all areas of the arts covered. Theatre, music, comedy, film, circus acts and spoken word sessions will take place along with a variety of family-orientated activities. The outdoor event will take place near the Barbican in Lloyd Park, Walthamstow. The outdoor occasion will feature Grammy Award winning music from Seun Kuti and Egypt 80. The Barbican Pop-Up Cinema will present a series of silent movies and humour will be on hand from the Red Imp Comedy Club.
Scooter riders, BMX riders and skateboarders will all be welcome at the skate-park jam with a chance to compete for a number of prizes. Kids will have plenty to keep them busy, with activities including designing their own T-Shirts in a screen printing workshop for ‘Little Mashers’. There are also more peaceful pursuits for those attending from guided gallery walks to tasting locally brewed beer and street food snacks.
