Walthamstow salon puts post-lockdown measures in place

A hair salon in North East London’s Walthamstow is adding new features in preparation for serving clients amidst the current crisis.

Among other steps taken, Buller And Rice Walthamstow has extended its salon by creating an outdoor area allowing a limited number of clients waiting for appointments to relax and enjoy some fresh air.

Founder Stephen Buller explained:

“With purple turf and bright furniture, we have created a self-made Tiki Bar, made from up-cycled kitchen cupboards. Local canned wine or beer will be available for clients to relax, definitely adding some fun to the service while staying safe.”

The salon is running a reduced service with far fewer chairs. Appointments have also been generously spaced enabling staff to clean the salon between services.

Businesses across the UK reopening amid the crisis can take advantage of poster printing services to create informational Signs instructing customers on new safety procedures.

Visiting clients must wear face masks during their appointment and refreshments will now be limited within the salon, so refillable coffee cups and water bottles are welcome. The fabric masks prepared for clients are locally made, with the proceeds from their sale donated to UK Black Pride.

For the safety and peace of mind for both customers and staff, all stylists at Buller and Rice in Walthamstow will work in full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including protective visors.
