Old-fashioned fun coming to Waltham Forest

Described as a day of old-fashioned fun for the community, the Walthamstow Village Festival returns to the London district this summer.

The Asian Centre at the Waltham Forest Community Hub on Orford Road will host the single-day event, which is free to all to attend.

Visitors are invited to join in with the festivities and entertainment will be available for all ages. Traffic will stop on Orford Road from 11am through to 8pm, transforming this area of north east London into a festival full of activities. Street food stalls will be offering hot and diverse dishes from local cultures among the community with plenty of other refreshments available too.

Family-friendly fun on the day will include bouncy castles for children. There will also be arts and crafts options for people to take part in, as well as live music.

This summer festival in Walthamstow takes place as part of an official programme of events planned by the Waltham Forest Borough of Culture for 2019. The organisation is represented by a unique Logo Design created by locally-based graphic designer Richard Vickers. The logo Forms a “W” from connecting dots and symbolises creativity and culture being strongest when connected to disparate elements to make something fresh and original.

The Walthamstow Village Festival will be held on July 6 from 1pm onwards.
