Festival of Fireworks coming to town

A celebration of fireworks in honour of Guy Fawkes will be held in Waltham Abbey.

Members of the public from Walthamstow, Epping and other parts of Greater London seeking a unique way to celebrate the bonfire season are invited to the Royal Gunpowder Mills in Waltham Abbey for the Guy Fawkes Festival and Fireworks weekend.

The family friendly event will combine a host of history and science-themed interactive activities for all ages to appreciate. Guests can join in workshops making items to take home, watch Dr Gore’s Science show and enjoy a mini-theatre production entitled ‘The Ghost of Guy Fawkes’.

Both days of the event will be concluded with a fireworks display, orchestrated by outdoor experts in pyrotechnics, ForceFX.

Organisers of annual events, including fireworks displays, can sometimes welcome in the public with eye-catching signage supplied by professional banner printing services.

Other features of the festival include a guided tour by a tractor trailer exploring the historic site’s three centuries, as well as visits to the Armoury and Rocket Vault. Refreshments will be readily available at the event from a selection of food stalls and the Gunpowder Café.

The Guy Fawkes Festival and Fireworks weekend starts at 2pm on Saturday, November 7 and ends at 7pm on Sunday, November 8. The event will take place at the Royal Gunpowder Mills on Beaulieu Drive.
