A single day event celebrating folk music is set to arrive in Walthamstow in North East London next month.
The special folk celebration will gather some of the most talented folk music performers under a single roof in St Mary’s Church in the conservation area known as Walthamstow village. Founded back in the 12th century, the ancient church at 8 Church End features more than 150 monuments and brasses some dating back to 1436.
The concert at St Mary’s Music Hall is presented by the Music Halls Project, whose Logo Design features text in a simple square with letter T and I bleeding into the border. The Music Halls Project is dedicated to expanding the use of public buildings to include concerts and festivals.
Popular American folk artist Sam Amidon will be taking the stage as well as Emily Portman, nominee for the BBC Folk Awards in 2016. Other performers will include Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne, Katie Spencer, Burd Ellen, and Boss Morris. Combining Welsh airs with Italian dance, Rock of Eye will also be performing, featuring Alex Vann on mandolin, Madame Ceski on violin and Ron Phelan playing bass.
Tickets are available at £33 per person with concessions on sale for £27.50. Booking fees are included. The Walthamstow Folk Festival will be held on November 2, with doors opening at 12pm.Get a Free Quote for Logo Design
