Virtual celebration held for West London institute

An education institute in West London held its first anniversary online.

The West London Institute of Technology (WLIoT) recently celebrated its one-year anniversary with a virtual event. The WLIoT is counted among 12 select institutes of technology that are licenced by the UK’s government to deliver employer-led training and higher technical education.

The institute received government support with £8.6 million in funding, and it provides courses in digital construction and engineering subjects. Courses are run at Uxbridge college’s Hayes campus, the Park Road site in Uxbridge and Harrow College. They will soon be taught additionally at Brunel University’s London campus. Educational institutions often rely on professional Print shops to create plush prospectuses that outline their available courses.

Highlights of the anniversary event included presentations from Minister for Apprenticeships and Skills Gillian Keegan, Vice Chair for HCUC Steve Cochran and Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip. The Prime Minister commented:

“I know West London IoT will continue to inspire individuals from all ages, genders and backgrounds to consider the opportunities and benefits of taking their studies higher.”

There was also a virtual tour of the institute showcasing the recently remodelled learning areas, and student award winners were announced for mini projects undertaken in 2020. About 100 guests attended the online festivities, including students, supporters, stakeholders, employers and faculty members.
